This year non-smokers might rejoice in the fact that they can finally have a coffee in a Parisian cafe without the blue haze that usually hangs over the tables and gives the clothing you’ve hoped to wear for more than an hour that manly, charred odor. Yes, maybe 2008 will be the year of smoking dangerously in Europe. Mostly you can do it in the street.
News reports say you won’t be able to smoke in hotels in 2008, either.
Maybe you can try renting a cute, little, studio apartment in Paris for less than the cost of that hotel.
The Paris vacation rental over there to the right has an “American kitchen.” I figure that’s because it has a microwave so you can nuke your food rather than letting the flavors spill out of the big pot and invade the apartment with delicious smells that remind you of home or Paris or even Proust. But then, you have a choice, and that’s what 2008 is all about.
Unless you’re a smoker in France, that is.
